Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hailed the renowned Nigerian artist Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, for her historic Grammy Awards win.
In a congratulatory message shared on Monday afternoon, the governor emphasized that Tems’ victory highlights her remarkable talent and commitment.
According to DANDALI, Tems won the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday night with her song “Love Me JeJe.”
In a post on his X account, Sanwo-Olu expressed, “I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Temilade Openiyi (@temsbaby) for winning the Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards with her song ‘Love Me JeJe’. This historic achievement makes her the first Nigerian artist to win in this category, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication.”
