60 Scholarship Students Graduated with Honors.

The Presidential Amnesty Programme Office recently announced a significant achievement: over 60 students on its scholarship have attained first-class degrees in various competitive disciplines from 2016 to 2023 at partnering universities. This accomplishment highlights the effectiveness of the program in promoting academic excellence among its beneficiaries.

Dr. Charles Ariye, the Head of Education at the PAP, disclosed this information in a statement. He noted that the disciplines in which these students excelled include electrical/electronics engineering, computer science, civil engineering, accounting, law, petroleum engineering, physics, international relations, and biochemistry, among others.

One standout student, Kemien Egbekun, graduated with an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.77 in Law from the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, located in Delta State. Her achievement is a testament to the quality of education and support provided by the PAP scholarship scheme.

Additionally, two other students sponsored by the PAP at the same institution, Oladapo Damilola and Toikumo Prosper, also performed admirably, securing second-class upper-division grades in Law. Their accomplishments were celebrated during the university’s 6th convocation ceremony held on September 6, 2024.

Dr. Ariye emphasized that while the scorecard for 2024 is still pending from various institutions, Egbekun and her peers have further contributed to the growing number of PAP scholarship recipients who have achieved similar levels of academic excellence across diverse fields.

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, expressed his delight over the remarkable academic performances of the students supported by the program. His remarks reflect the commitment of the PAP to fostering educational success among its beneficiaries.

Otuaro’s excitement comes in light of the impressive academic feats of Egbekun, Arogbo-Ijaw-born, and her fellow scholars. The achievements of these students are not only personal triumphs but also serve as an inspiration to others within the community.

In conclusion, the PAP’s scholarship program continues to demonstrate its positive impact on students’ educational journeys, encouraging excellence and providing opportunities for success in various academic disciplines.
