Singer Timaya has shared his reasons for staying unmarried despite his successful career. In a recent interview with Naija FM, he mentioned that he has never been interested in marriage, emphasizing that it’s not something he has ever desired. However, the singer acknowledged that he doesn’t completely dismiss the idea of potentially changing his mind in the future.
“I’ve never been the marrying type, but that could change because marriage can be complicated. I think about whether I would be able to leave if I got married today. In all my past relationships, I was the one who ended things because I don’t like stress,” he shared.
Timaya explained that his reluctance towards marriage is rooted in his desire for freedom and aversion to stress. He highlighted the importance of open communication in relationships, stating that he values honesty and transparency. “If you have an issue with me, let’s discuss it because I don’t like going to bed with things on my mind; it drives me crazy. I prefer not to have anything bothering me,” he added.
Regarding fatherhood, Timaya mentioned that his children live with their mothers, but they maintain a strong connection. He noted that while being a father can be stressful, it is also rewarding. Timaya revealed that he spends quality time with his children, who often come to visit him for extended stays. Although he is not in a romantic relationship with their mothers, he emphasized that they share a respectful and familial bond.
