The Borno government has donated vehicles and motorcycles to the Nigerian Army

The Borno Government has made a significant contribution to the Nigerian Army by donating five operational vehicles and 15 motorcycles. This initiative aims to enhance security operations in the Dikwa Local Government area. The donation was officially presented by Governor Babagana Zulum during his visit to the 24 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army on Monday.

During the visit, Governor Zulum was represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Umar Kadafur. He emphasized the critical need to equip security forces, highlighting how such support is vital for maintaining peace and stability in the region. This move reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening security measures in areas affected by unrest.

Among the donated vehicles, two are specifically designated for the Civilian Joint Task Force, while the remaining three are allocated for use by the army. This distribution underscores the collaborative effort between the military and local security groups in addressing the challenges posed by insurgency.

Governor Zulum commended Brigade Commander Brig.-Gen. Ezekiel Bawa Barkins for the military’s ongoing support in the successful resettlement of displaced persons in Dikwa and its surrounding areas. His acknowledgment of the Brigade Commander’s efforts illustrates the importance of military involvement in humanitarian efforts.

Furthermore, the governor urged security agencies to remain vigilant and committed to their responsibilities. He stressed the need for continued dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens, which is essential for fostering a secure environment for all.

This donation is part of a broader strategy by the Borno Government to strengthen security infrastructure across the state. By supporting both the military and local volunteers, the government aims to combat insurgency more effectively and restore normalcy in affected regions.
