A Company Is Developing Human Washing Machines

Forget about traditional cold plunge pools; there’s a new trend emerging that could change how we think about personal hygiene—it’s like a washing machine for humans!

According to a report from one of Japan’s oldest newspapers, a company in Osaka called Science has come up with a unique device that resembles a cockpit. When someone sits in the center seat, the machine fills up with water. It has sensors that can check your pulse and other body signals, ensuring that the water temperature is just right for a comfortable experience. To make the experience even more enjoyable, it projects calming images on the inside of its transparent cover, designed to help you feel refreshed during your “wash.”

This innovative creation is called “Mirai Ningen Sentakuki,” which translates to “human washing machine of the future.” Although it sounds fascinating, the company has no immediate plans to sell it commercially. For the time being, they will showcase this device at an expo in Osaka this coming April. At the expo, a limited number of people—up to eight each day—will be able to experience a short 15-minute “wash and dry” session, but you have to make a reservation first.

Interestingly, there are rumors that a version of this device for home use is also in development. The company aims for this home model to help “wash the mind” in addition to cleaning the body, indicating that they want to create an all-around refreshing experience for users.
