A fuel-laden tanker has erupted in flames in Jigawa State, located in North West Nigeria. The incident has caused significant panic among onlookers.
The fire occurred near the Jigawa-Kano border, drawing immediate attention from local authorities and the public. Eyewitnesses reported a chaotic scene as flames engulfed the vehicle.
Aliyu M. A., the Public Relations Officer for the Federal Fire Service in Jigawa State, confirmed the incident to reporters on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. His statement provided essential details about the event.
According to Aliyu, the Federal Fire Service received a distress call on November 12, 2024, around 10:43 AM. The call came from Zubairu Ahmad, the head of Kuho Village, who reported a tanker accident at Tsaida, Kwanar Kalle, close to Gamoji village along Maiduri Road.

The fire service responded swiftly, arriving at the scene just seven minutes later, at 10:50 AM. Their prompt action was crucial in containing and controlling the fire before it could spread further.
This incident is particularly alarming as it follows a similar tragedy that occurred just a month prior. In October, a petrol-laden truck exploded in Majia, located in the Taura Local Government Area of Yobe State, leading to over 170 fatalities.
