Before his incarceration, Peter was a farmer who rented out land to earn a living. A particular woman worked for him, and over time, they developed a close relationship, becoming friends with benefits. The woman had two daughters, aged 13 and 15. Whenever payments were delayed, she would send her daughters to collect the money. The girls were fond of Remeu, so they would often stay overnight in his rental house on separate mattresses when sent by their mother. On one occasion, Remeu had a debt of Ksh 900, and the girls were dispatched. They spent the night, and to everyone’s shock, he was arrested the following morning for defilement. The 15-year-old testified that she had been defiled, even though the medical tests were clear. The mother and the 13-year-old supported Remeu, but their words were insufficient to establish his innocence. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison and is currently serving his time at Nakuru main prison.
He has gained significant knowledge and urges men to exercise caution in their decision-making to prevent similar problems. Additionally, he appeals to medical professionals to be just and accurate when preparing reports, as many innocent individuals are enduring suffering in prison for defilement.
