A woman discusses the reasons why Christian women should avoid marrying in their 20s and 30s.

A Nigerian feminist has expressed her decision not to get married until she has accumulated enough wealth. She believes that entering a marriage without financial stability is not advisable for women. According to her, women need to have sufficient money that would instill a sense of respect in men before considering marriage.

In a TikTok video that has garnered significant attention, she stated that women should prioritize financial independence over marriage, especially in their 20s. She emphasized that it is unwise for a woman to marry without her financial resources.

The feminist advised young women to focus on self-investment during their 20s and 30s rather than pursuing marriage. She firmly believes that achieving financial security before entering a marriage is crucial.

In her words: “As a Christian woman, I have decided that my 20s are not meant for marriage; they are for making money. Christian women should stop rushing into marriage. Focus on building your finances. If you don’t have any savings, seek ways to earn money. In your 20s and 30s, prioritize financial growth. Stop chasing after men. Some of you are participating in Hallelujah Challenges while wearing bridal gowns—have you established your financial foundation? I refuse to enter a marriage without having multiple streams of steady income. I’m not the type of Christian woman who will marry with nothing in my account. My 20s are dedicated to hard work and wealth creation.”
