Amos Adamu: Dikko’s strong vision is beneficial for Nigerian sports

Dr. Amos Adamu, who previously served as the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), has voiced his belief that the recent appointment of Malam Shehu Dikko as the new NSC chairman will produce positive results in the near future. He emphasized that Dikko’s vision is crucial for the transformation of sports in Nigeria.

During a courtesy visit to Dikko in Abuja, Dr. Adamu, a former member of the Executive Committee for both FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), expressed his strong support for Dikko’s leadership. He believes that Dikko’s appointment marks a significant step forward for Nigerian sports.

Dr. Adamu praised President Bola Tinubu’s decision to select Dikko for this pivotal role, describing it as a bold and commendable choice. He acknowledged the numerous challenges that have historically hindered the growth of sports in the country but remains optimistic about Dikko’s potential to make a difference.

The former director-general noted that Dikko has received overwhelming backing from stakeholders, which he believes will enable him to apply his extensive experience effectively within the sector. This support is critical for overcoming the obstacles that have plagued Nigerian sports.

“Dikko’s appointment is a clear indication that a much-needed rebirth in Nigerian sports is on the horizon,” Dr. Adamu stated. He described Dikko as an outstanding choice for this important position, highlighting that the president made an excellent decision in selecting someone with such a wealth of experience and a clear vision for the future.

Dr. Adamu called upon all genuine stakeholders in Nigeria to extend their full support to Dikko as he embarks on this essential mission. He stressed that collaboration among all relevant parties is vital for achieving meaningful progress in the sports sector.

He cautioned that despite Dikko’s enthusiasm and dedication, he may struggle to achieve his goals without the collective effort of everyone involved. “I appeal to all stakeholders to rally behind him as he seeks to reset and elevate the sports industry in Nigeria,” he urged.

In closing, Dr. Adamu reassured that many experienced individuals are still available to offer guidance and share their insights whenever Dikko reaches out for support. He expressed a willingness to assist in any way possible to ensure the success of Nigerian sports.
