APC will win all SouthWest states but I won’t disclose our secret – Ganduje

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made a bold assertion regarding the party’s ambitions in the Southwest region. He announced that the APC is focused on winning the upcoming off-cycle governorship election in Ondo State, scheduled for November 16. This declaration reflects the party’s strategic intent to strengthen its influence in the area.

Ganduje delivered this message during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure, the capital of Ondo State. His presence was accompanied by several notable figures, including Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu from Lagos, Abiodun Oyebanji from Ekiti, and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, who was represented by Talabi Olatokunbo, the Secretary to the State Government.

The meeting saw the participation of key party members from the Southwest, including Isaac Kekemeke, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Senator Ajibola Bashiru, the APC National Secretary, and Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele. Their collective attendance underscores the importance the APC places on this upcoming election.

During his address, Ganduje emphasized the party’s commitment to expanding its reach ahead of the 2027 general elections. He articulated the necessity for both Oyo and Osun states to fall under the APC’s control to enhance President Bola Tinubu’s support base, particularly in the southern region of the country.

While discussing the party’s strategy, Ganduje refrained from disclosing specific tactics for securing victories in these states. Instead, he called on APC leaders to foster unity among party members and their supporters, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving their electoral goals.

Ganduje expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects for the Ondo governorship election, labeling it a “walkover” for the party. He reassured attendees that the national leadership is fully behind the incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in this electoral endeavor.

In his remarks, Ganduje stressed the need for the APC to achieve a complete victory in the geopolitical zone. He urged the party’s members in Ondo State to lead the charge, emphasizing that success in this election is crucial for the party’s overall strategy.

Moreover, he pointed out that the party’s ambitions extend beyond Ondo, with plans to capture Oyo and Osun states as well. However, he maintained that he would keep the specifics of their strategy under wraps for the time being.

The emphasis on unity and collaboration among APC members is a recurring theme in Ganduje’s message. He believes that a cohesive approach will be vital for the party’s success in the upcoming elections.

Ganduje’s statements reflect a determined effort by the APC to solidify its presence in the Southwest region. The party’s leadership is clearly focused on not only winning the Ondo governorship election but also on laying the groundwork for future electoral successes in the region.
