Apple is reportedly set to announce a new smart home hub, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicating a potential release as early as March 2025. This innovative device is designed to mount on walls and will not only control smart home appliances but also facilitate video calls. It is expected to incorporate Apple Intelligence, enhancing its functionality.

The hub is said to feature a 6-inch touchscreen and will likely utilize voice control through Siri or the upcoming “App Intents” system, allowing AI to manage applications. Alongside this, it will run on a new operating system and include traditional Apple applications such as Safari, Apple Music, Notes, and Calendar. Additionally, sensors will be integrated to detect user proximity.
Positioned as a competitor to Amazon’s Echo Hub and Google’s Nest Hub, the pricing is anticipated to fall between $100 and $250. In a more ambitious project, Apple is also developing an iPad mounted on a robotic arm that can follow users around the room, which is expected to be priced closer to $1000.
