Armed Bandits and Their Accomplices/Collaborators Mobilize to Kano State

Recent credible information indicates that armed bandits and their collaborators are fleeing from military operations in states such as Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara. The ongoing military efforts have achieved significant success, particularly in Zamfara, where notorious bandit leader Halilu Buzu, known as HALILU SUBUBU, has been eliminated along with several others.

As a result of these military actions, many armed bandits are seeking refuge in Kano State, viewing it as a safe haven. There has been a noticeable influx of individuals known to be informants for these bandits, who are relocating to Kano. Reports suggest that they are purchasing houses to serve as escape routes for themselves, bandit leaders, and their families.

Intelligence further reveals that these armed bandits are settling in specific areas, including RIJIYSR ZAKI, TUDUN YOLA, JAEN, DORAYI BABBA, RIJIYAR LEMU, and YAN AWAKI AFTER NNPC IN HOTORO LGA. Some are also observed establishing residences in BICHI along Shanono road. This movement poses a significant concern for the security of Kano State.

Given the threat posed by these armed bandits, who have previously unleashed terror in Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina, it is crucial to monitor the situation closely. If these individuals are not adequately checked or placed under surveillance, they may disrupt the existing peace in Kano and its surrounding areas.

To mitigate this threat, it is recommended that the police Command in Kano organize a specialized team of operatives. This team should conduct routine checks through real estate agents and property sales in Kano to verify the identities of individuals purchasing houses and lands, or renting accommodations, particularly those who have relocated from Zamfara and Sokoto in the past year.

Taking these proactive measures will help ensure the safety and security of Kano State and prevent potential disruptions caused by the influx of armed bandits and their collaborators.
