Birth and Early life.
Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is the Governor of Sokoto State in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he was born on 10th January 1966 in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Educational Status.
Aminu Tambuwal obtained his primary education in Tambuwal Primary School, Tambuwal, Sokoto State, and his secondary education at Government Teacher’s College Dogon Daji in 1979 where he graduated with a teacher’s grade 2 certificate in 1984.
Tambuwal attended Usman Danfodio University Sokoto where he obtained his degree in law in 1991 and he did his law school training for 1 year where he was called to the bar as a lawyer in 1992.
After finishing his law degree, he did many courses abroad which included:-
- Telecoms Regulatory Master Class – Bath UK in 2004.
- Lawmaking for the communications sector – BMIT, Johannesburg, South Africa in 2004.
- Regulating a competitive industry – the UK, Brussels in 2005.
- Tulane University – International Legislative Drafting in 2005.
- Stanford Graduate School of Business – Influence and Negotiation in 2008.
- KSG Harvard – Infrastructure in Market Economy.
Marriage and children.
Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is married to two wives and he is blessed with 7 children, his first wife Hajiya Mariya Aminu Tambuwal whom he married in 1994 has six children and his second wife Hajiya Maryam Mairo Mustafa Aminu Tambuwal is having only one child, a baby girl that was born in Dubai after many years of marriage.

Political Careers
Tambuwal started working as a personal assistant on legislative affairs to Senator Abdullahi Wali, the senate leader from 1999 to 2000. He started learning the legislative ropes from that time and he decided to contest for the legislative seat as a representative of Kebbi /Tambuwal Federal Constituency in 2003. He won the election on the platform of the All Nigerian People Party (ANPP).
Tambuwal left the ANPP a few months before the 2007 general elections and went to the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) alongside the former governor of Sokoto State Attahiru Bafarawa, he was denied the return ticket to the party and as a result of, he had to return to his former party and was successful to pick up a ticket for 2007 elections.

He then decided to move to the Peoples Democratic Party in that same year. Aminu Tambuwal stayed on the platform of PDP for 7 years before leaving in October 2014 for the newly created All Progressive Congress APC for the preparation of the 2015 General elections.
He contested for the gubernatorial aspirant of Sokoto State on the platform of APC and he won the election in 2015. He was re-elected in 2019 for the second tenure.
He then returned to the PDP again where he intended to contest for the 2023 presidency but later stepped down and endorsed Atiku Abubakar just before the commencement of voting during the primary election.
