Early Life
The real name of the great hero Bayajidda is Abuyazid meaning the father of yazid, he is the son to sultan Baghdad Abdullahi. Bayajidda was a citizen of Iraq and he left his country with forty attendant and entered Nigeria through the lake Chad by the town of Nala and they reside in Gazargamu Which is currently Borno State.
Where as, his essential business come mush subsequently in his time, as he took the screen of conduct in the Town of Daurama, presently Daura of Katsina state.
Occupation
In the legend of the great hero, his business is not the essential bottom line of the story, but it can be concluded that he like hunting as well as horse expendition, as those were the rule of must kingdom in that season.
When did Hero arrived at Nigeria
When the hero enter Nigeria, there are many narratives. Firstly, when he first arrived at Gagargamu, which is known as ( Barno state), he came from gloriousness with high tech know how on people affairs and warfare. The great hero concluded to dismiss as well as to do distant with the compulsory Sultan, he begin at Gazargamu, seeing he had a remarkable force as opposed to that of the Sultan.
The Sultan have the massage of his deposition, and he directly advised with high chiefs and counselors and came to the final decision that he need to offer the hero his child, Maryam in marriage (she is familiar as Magira).
Because of this situation, Bayajidda couldn’t get along with repositioning the Sultan. In the years later, when the Sultan built new Towns, he convinced Bayajidda to abandon his attendant to set up keepers in the new Towns and this highly decreased the attendance he had. After the hero found out that he was actually deceived by the Sultan, and it was too late for him to take any action that he had only attendant alone with his partner. At night, he then moved the town to Gazargamu with his partner and his attendant focusing west to Garin Gabas currently Hadejia, Jigawa State.
Marriage and Later Life
Still, as reported in a different form of the story, when the hero arrived at Barno, he was kindly welcomed, got married to Magaram and he become famous with the society. Because of that, Sultan become jealous of him and planned against him, he moved to Barno with his partner after she told him about the Sultan’s plan. Although, Bayajidda and his partner Magaram we’re there after she deliver there first child(Biram) the disgrateful rule of the small division of Gabas.
After that, he still scared of his life,he slipped out at night, leaving his partner and his attendant behind, he moved to eastward to an arear called Gaga, currently called Abajiyawa, people of kano are saying to have originated, some said that it was currently Niger. He saw blacksmith , they cast his a weapon comparable to his early one which he miss after guiding them.Then he focus on North word.
Bayajidda Adventures in Daura
He already arrived at an arear called Daura in current day, it is part of katsina state regions. He is feeling thirsty, then he entered the first house he saw, and asked for water, the house belonged to an old woman named Ayana, she told him about the snake called sarki, that is guiding the well, leaving them fetching the water one time in a week.
She allowed his to go and fetch water after she noticed that he was very thirsty, at the well that he may lost his life. He then arrived at the well and murder sarki with his weapon which blacksmith made it for him, after he drank the water he go along with the snake’s head, and returned to an old woman.
In the other day, people of Daura were so surprise to see the snake was out side the well which he disturb the entre city. The Queen ordered her guide to beat the drum named ” Dajinjin” to alert people to gather themselves at the well after she got the information of what is going on in her city, so that to hail the snake and beg him to put out its anger and return to the well.
People assembled at the well beside the Queen, they all amazed what moved the snake out side the well as no one dared to touch the anger of dead full animal. There was a man called Audi indi who has fearlessly walked closer to the well to see the scene, and he saw that the snake had been murdered. In hausa land Audi was the first header of kaura for his courageous.
They all amazed who had murder the snake, Queen Daurama give freedom to about half of the city to someone who should prove that he murder the snake, An old woman Ayana who take Bayajidda as her guest told the Queen that it was her guest who murder it.
She called out the Hero and tell him to prove this contend by bring out head of the snake, which can prove to her he is the murder of sarki. After displaying the proof that he is absolutely the snake murder, she gave him half of the city but he returned the offer. He insist on her hand in marriage and she agreed to marry him out of gratefulness for murdering the snake.
As mentioned by an oral palace history of legend of the hero, it was opposed to the ritual of the Daura people for a Queen to get married, and the Queen formed an arrangement by saying she should complete the marriage after. This made her award Bayajidda a Mistress called Bagwariya so that to have time to under go the costom experiment to break up the promise of staying spouseless.
How Bayajidda founded the Hausa States
Bagwariya Mistress had a son, she named him Karab da Bari or Karbi Gari which means ” snatched the city ” in hausa, this bothered the Queen Daurama. After, the Queen also had a son she named him Bawo, which meant” Give it Back ” which was in reply to Bagwariya Mistress.
In a Bawo history, he said, he went over his father, and he had six children who turn in to the headers of Daura, Zazzau, Rano, Gobir, katsina and Kano, all alone with his Step brother Biram made the ” Hausa Bakwai” . In another form of the legend, Magaram and her Son are withdraw out alone with Rano, katsina, Gobir, kano, Daura and Zaria all are children of Bayajidda and Daurama are ruling them.
Nevertheless, son of Gwari mistress Karab d gari also had six children, who are ruling, zamfara, Nupe, ilorin, Yauri, Gwari, Kebbi and Jakun which are named as ” Banza Bakwai” or ” Unfatherred Seven “.
