Activist and social media figure Martins Vincent Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan, has revealed his reasons for declining an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding allegations of corruption against the agency’s officials.
It is noted that VeryDarkMan recently shared a video featuring an audio recording allegedly from social media personality Bobrisky, in which Bobrisky claimed he was requested to pay N15 million to have a money laundering charge against him dismissed.
In response, the EFCC sent a letter inviting both VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky to its Lagos office to “assist investigators in uncovering the alleged bribery.”

VeryDarkMan recently shared a video featuring an audio recording that he claims is from Bobrisky. In the recording, Bobrisky said he was asked to pay N15 million to have a money laundering charge dropped. In response, the EFCC invited both VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky to its Lagos office to help investigate the alleged bribery.
However, VeryDarkMan stated on Wednesday that he won’t go to Lagos because he doesn’t live there and is unsure of what could happen if he does. He suggested that the EFCC should invite them to its office in Abuja instead.
He also criticized the EFCC for not ensuring that Bobrisky was imprisoned. He said, “Before inviting me, thoroughly investigate your officers. Once you have results from those who handled Bobrisky’s case, then invite me.”
He added, “It doesn’t make sense to ask me to go to Lagos when the EFCC headquarters is in Abuja. You should invite Bobrisky to Abuja for the investigation.”
Lastly, VeryDarkMan mentioned that he doesn’t have N15 million to pay for anything, has no influential connections, and doesn’t want to be set up. He distrusted the EFCC and confirmed he would not go to Lagos.
Bobrisky has denied paying N15 million to drop the money laundering charge and called the audio recording fake.
