British Airways Cancels Summer Flights From UK Airport.

British Airways has announced the cancellation of all its summer 2025 flights from Southampton Airport. In a statement, the airline confirmed it is “suspending our summer 2025 operations from Southampton Airport” but did not provide a reason for the decision.

An airport spokesperson expressed disappointment, saying the move was “clearly disappointing.” British Airways operates weekend flights from Southampton to destinations such as Bergerac, Dublin, Faro, Malaga, and Majorca through its subsidiary, BA CityFlyer.

Affected passengers will be contacted with options, including rebooking on alternative flights, either with British Airways or another airline, or receiving a full refund.

Southampton Airport noted that while the route cancellation is unfortunate, they are actively discussing the introduction of new services with other airlines, including options to replace the routes withdrawn by British Airways.

The news comes nearly a year after the airport extended its runway, a project that was deemed “absolutely critical” to its viability as a regional airport and its ability to accommodate a wider range of aircraft.
