Cards Against Humanity is Suing SpaceX for Land Trespassing in Texas.
The creators of the party game Cards Against Humanity are suing Elon Musk’s SpaceX, claiming it trespassed on and damaged their land in Texas. The lawsuit, filed in a Texas court, is asking for $15 million to cover damages, including the destruction of natural vegetation.
The land in question is a vacant plot near Brownsville, Texas, which Cards Against Humanity purchased in 2017. They bought it to prevent a proposed border wall during the Trump administration. Despite having a “No Trespassing” sign, the game creators allege that SpaceX has been using the land for about six months without permission.

According to the lawsuit, SpaceX has cleared vegetation, parked vehicles, and stored construction materials on the property. Cards Against Humanity insists they bought the land to preserve its natural state, and they claim SpaceX’s actions have hurt their reputation with supporters.
The company raised the money to buy the land through crowdfunding, with 150,000 people contributing $15 each. If they win the lawsuit, they plan to return some of the money to those original donors.
SpaceX has not commented on the lawsuit yet. The game makers also rejected a low offer from SpaceX to buy the land for less than half its value, and they jokingly suggested they’d accept payment in the form of Twitter shares.
The lawsuit includes before-and-after photos showing the changes to the land, highlighting the damage they claim SpaceX caused. While SpaceX is growing rapidly and has had several successful rocket launches, it’s also faced criticism for environmental issues and its control over the space launch market.
