Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, commonly known as Daddy Freeze, has asserted that miracles in Nigerian Pentecostal churches are staged. He expressed his disbelief in these miracles, emphasizing that they appeal to the gullible.
He argued that the miracles performed by Jesus in the Bible were verifiable, unlike those claimed by Nigerian clerics, who he says have not demonstrated their miraculous abilities on public figures.
In a recent episode of the Outside The Box podcast, Daddy Freeze stated, “I’m sorry, but I don’t believe in any of the miracles in any Pentecostal church. I don’t have an issue with the pastors, but I simply don’t believe their miracles. My IQ is 156, and I would have to be quite foolish to believe in miracles in Nigerian churches.”
He cited examples from the Bible, mentioning how Jesus healed a man with a withered hand, raised Lazarus from the dead, and cured blind Bartimaeus, all of which were widely known. He pointed out that today in Nigeria, no one has performed similar miracles. For instance, he noted that despite prayers from numerous Nigerian General Overseers, the late Dora Akunyili, who was battling cancer, could not be healed. He also referenced comedian Mr. Ibu, who faced severe health issues leading to amputation and ultimately death, stating that no one could heal him or raise him afterward.
Daddy Freeze concluded by demanding evidence for these miracles, saying, “Don’t tell me you performed miracles. I want proof.”
