Davido responds following his achievement of surpassing Wizkid’s Spotify record.

Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is celebrating a significant milestone with his latest success on Spotify. The singer has relished the achievement of his new single “Funds,” which features collaborations with artists Odumodublvck and Chike. This track has made a remarkable impact by breaking the record for the highest number of streams in its first week on Spotify Nigeria.

Previously, the record was held by Wizkid’s hit song “Kese,” which garnered 4.72 million streams. However, Davido’s “Funds” has surpassed this impressive figure, achieving an outstanding 4.82 million streams during its debut week. This accomplishment not only highlights the popularity of the song but also sets a new benchmark in the competitive landscape of Nigerian music streaming.

The news of this record-breaking achievement was shared by the music monitoring platform TheDebutHub, which took to Twitter to announce, “New record. Davido’s ‘Funds’ ft. ODUMODUBLVCK & Chike breaks the record for the biggest 1st streaming week on Spotify Nigeria. ‘Funds’ recorded 4.82M streams, surpassing ‘Kese (Dance)’ (4.72M).” This tweet underscores the growing influence of Afrobeats on digital streaming platforms and the excitement surrounding Davido’s music.

In response to this significant milestone, Davido expressed his gratitude and faith by stating, “We believe in God.” This statement reflects his appreciation for the support he has received from fans and his unwavering belief in divine guidance throughout his musical journey.
