Do2dtun calls out Soundcity over 8 months unpaid salaries

Popular On-Air Personality (OAP), Do2dtun, has taken to social media to call out the music channel Soundcity over what he claims is a prolonged issue of unpaid salaries. The OAP, known for his work on Cool FM, made the allegations in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), which have since gone viral.

On Wednesday, Do2dtun expressed his frustration over the situation, revealing that the music station has reportedly failed to pay its staff for an entire eight months. In a tone that blended concern and disbelief, he questioned how his colleagues at Soundcity have been managing to cope with the financial strain brought on by the unpaid wages.

In one of his posts, Do2dtun directly addressed his fellow OAPs and staff at Soundcity, saying, “My friends and colleagues at Soundcity, how do you guys cope? No salary for 8 months? Mehn, that is crazy.” His words quickly gained traction, with many in the entertainment and media industry expressing shock at the news and sympathizing with the staff affected.

The OAP, who also hosts shows on Cool FM, further emphasized his point, pointing out that running a media station should not come at the expense of staff welfare. “It’s not by force to open a radio station,” he continued. “Owing your staff for 8 months is very cruel and inhumane. You don’t need a soothsayer to tell you this.”

Do2dtun’s post has sparked a wider conversation about the treatment of employees in the Nigerian entertainment and media industries, where many workers have reported issues with delayed or non-payment of salaries. His remarks have resonated with both colleagues and fans, drawing attention to the importance of fair compensation for those who dedicate their time and talents to the success of such media platforms.

His candidness has also brought to light the broader issue of financial instability in the entertainment industry, which, despite its success in other areas, continues to struggle with adequate remuneration for its workforce. Many are now calling for accountability, urging companies to ensure that their staff are treated with respect and paid promptly for their contributions.

The outcry over unpaid salaries at Soundcity, fueled by Do2dtun’s posts, has sparked widespread discussions across social media platforms, with many supporting the need for better working conditions in the industry. It remains to be seen how the music channel will respond to these allegations, but for now, the spotlight is on the welfare of employees in the entertainment sector.
