ExxonMobil Announces New Leaders

ExxonMobil has shared some significant news regarding changes in its leadership team. Liam Mallon, who is currently the President of ExxonMobil Upstream Company and also serves as Vice President of ExxonMobil Corporation, will be stepping down from his roles and retiring on February 1, 2025. His retirement marks the end of a long career with the company, as he has been with ExxonMobil since 1990, starting his journey in Aberdeen, Scotland, and becoming the president of the Upstream Company in 2022.

In response to Mallon’s upcoming retirement, the Board of Directors at ExxonMobil has decided to promote Dan L. Ammann to take over the position of President of ExxonMobil Upstream Company. Dan will also keep his role as Vice President of ExxonMobil Corporation. This means that Dan will be stepping into Liam’s shoes and continuing the work in the upstream sector, which involves exploration and production of oil and gas.

Additionally, Barry L. Engle has been appointed as the President of Low Carbon Solutions and will also serve as Vice President for ExxonMobil Corporation starting January 1, 2025. This role indicates ExxonMobil’s focus on developing and promoting environmentally friendly solutions and technologies.

In summary, ExxonMobil is undergoing some leadership changes, with Dan Ammann set to succeed Liam Mallon in the Upstream Company and Barry Engle taking on a new role focused on low carbon initiatives. The company is optimistic about these changes and believes they will help in continuing their success in the energy sector.
