The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has reiterated the federal government’s dedication to enhancing polytechnic education by equipping all federal polytechnics to produce skilled graduates capable of meeting the needs of Nigeria’s evolving economy. The minister made this announcement on Tuesday during the commissioning of a new one-storey lecture room and laboratory building, along with the procurement of laboratory equipment at the Federal Polytechnic Bali in Taraba State.
Alausa, who was represented by Dr. Ejeh Usman, the Director of Polytechnic Education and Allied Institutions, revealed that the government invested N390 million in the project. He emphasized that the new building and equipment would improve practical learning and research activities at the polytechnic.
Alausa noted that the project was part of the NEEDS assessment revitalization fund initiatives, stating that it would create a conducive environment for lectures and practical sessions. He mentioned that the Federal Polytechnic Bali was the second institution to benefit from this fund, following Kaduna Polytechnic.
“The facility will enhance the capacity of Federal Polytechnic Bali for hands-on technical training and promote innovative research and development. It will also prepare students for real-world challenges by providing access to modern tools and technology. The federal government hopes that these facilities will significantly contribute to the advancement of Federal Polytechnic Bali,” the minister stated.

Alausa further emphasized the federal government’s commitment to prioritizing education, which he described as a cornerstone of national development. He urged the management of the institution to utilize these facilities effectively for teaching and to ensure the maintenance and sustainability of this essential learning and research equipment.
In his earlier address, Dr. Mohammed Usman, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Bali, praised the federal Ministry of Education for implementing the project at the institution, noting that the provided facilities would further enhance learning and research activities at the polytechnic.
