Kennedy-Ohanenye was appointed as the Minister of Women Affairs in August 2023 but was removed in a cabinet reshuffle on October 23, 2024, alongside four other ministers. She joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and made history as the party’s first female presidential aspirant in 2023. However, she later withdrew her candidacy to support Bola Tinubu in the presidential race.
