Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, enters Nollywood.

Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has officially transitioned into the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood. This move comes just a few months after her dismissal by President Bola Tinubu.

Kennedy-Ohanenye was appointed as the Minister of Women Affairs in August 2023 but was removed in a cabinet reshuffle on October 23, 2024, alongside four other ministers. At 51 years old, she has decided to pursue a career in filmmaking, marking a significant shift in her professional focus only four months after leaving her ministerial position.

In an announcement on her X account, the former minister shared a video showcasing her latest project, signaling her entry into the world of acting. Her involvement in Nollywood reflects a growing trend among politicians and public figures seeking new avenues for expression and creativity after their political careers.

Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye is not only a politician but also a lawyer and entrepreneur. She joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and made history as the party’s first female presidential aspirant in 2023. However, she later withdrew her candidacy to support Bola Tinubu in the presidential race.

Her new venture into Nollywood highlights her versatility and ambition, as she aims to make an impact in the film industry while continuing to engage with the public in a different capacity. The move has generated interest among fans and followers, who are eager to see how her political background influences her storytelling and performances in the film.
