Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele has responded to criticism from a concerned netizen who questioned her choice to wear a ring on her “marriage finger” despite her divorce.
The netizen, known as @OriretanHonour on X, argued that it was unwise for the actress to continue wearing the ring, suggesting it might deter potential suitors. He commented: “Funke, it’s unwise to still wear a ring on your marriage finger knowing you’re divorced. Even worse, it might scare away your future husband. Little things matter now that you’re still famous, attractive, and wealthy. Mind your public actions. Remove the ring now. You need a man in your life ASAP. Act quickly. Be wise.”
In response, Akindele dismissed the concern, stating that her priority is financial stability. “I need money! That’s the koko,” she replied.
Funke Akindele has been married and divorced twice. She first married Mr. Oloyede on May 26, 2012, but the couple divorced in July 2013 due to irreconcilable differences. Her second marriage to JJC Skillz ended in 2022 after they welcomed twins together. In an interview with Wazobia FM last year, Akindele addressed her marital history, asserting that being divorced twice does not equate to failure.
