Ganduje: Edo election model will be used in Ondo and Anambra polls.

The former governor of Kano State recently outlined the party’s plans to replicate its winning strategies in Anambra, which is currently under the control of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He emphasized that this approach would also be applied to other states in the South East in future elections.

Speaking in Abuja, Ganduje celebrated the victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo. This event was attended by members of the Edo state election situation room, highlighting the party’s efforts to strengthen its position in the region.

During his address, Ganduje remarked that a major political party like the APC should have a commanding presence in the South East geo-political zone. He urged party leaders at all levels to enhance their efforts to achieve the party’s objectives.

He noted that the APC has already begun formulating strategies to win these key states. Looking ahead to next year, he specifically mentioned that Anambra State would be a focal point for the party’s efforts.

Ganduje also reminded attendees about a significant initiative called the political demarginalization of the South East geo-political zone. He characterized this project as an essential task that the party must prioritize.

The former governor expressed his belief that the APC needs to engage actively with all five states in the South East. The party has a foothold in two states, but he argued that this is inadequate for a party of their size and ambition.

He stressed the importance of developing effective strategies to reclaim more states for the APC. Ganduje’s vision reflects a desire for the party to expand its influence and representation in the region.

In a related development, some elders from the North Central APC, led by former Senate President Ameh Ebute, expressed confidence that the upcoming 2027 general election would be a straightforward victory for the party.

This optimism was voiced during a visit to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, where they congratulated Ganduje on his recent legal victory. This victory was significant, as it involved a court ruling related to his position as chairman.

The North Central APC Forum filed the lawsuit challenging Ganduje’s chairmanship. The forum sought to declare his leadership as a breach of the party’s constitution.

Specifically, the suit referenced provisions within Article 7(vii) and (ix) of the APC’s constitution. These provisions outline the criteria for leadership positions within the party.

Additionally, the lawsuit highlighted a consensus reached at the 2022 National Convention. This consensus stipulated that the national chairman of the APC from 2022 to 2026 should be someone from the North.

Ganduje’s successful defense against the suit has bolstered his position within the party. It also reinforces that the APC is committed to maintaining strong leadership as it prepares for future elections.

The sentiments expressed by Ganduje and the North Central elders reflect a broader ambition for the APC. They aim to solidify their influence in the South East and ensure a favorable outcome in the next general elections.

Overall, the APC appears determined to enhance its presence and effectiveness in the region, setting the stage for a competitive political landscape.
