Gov Yusuf reopens Nuhu Bamalli maternity hospital

In a significant move to address maternal and child mortality rates, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially re-commissioned the Bamalli Nuhu Maternity Hospital. This comes after extensive renovations undertaken by his administration, reflecting a commitment to improving healthcare facilities in the region.

The announcement was made through a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Thursday, highlighting the administration’s focus on healthcare improvements. The re-commissioning ceremony gathered various stakeholders, emphasizing the community’s involvement in the hospital’s future.

During the ceremony, Governor Yusuf expressed his satisfaction with the upgrades made to the facility. He noted that when he assumed office, the hospital was in a state of disrepair, making it one of his top priorities for improvement.

The governor remarked, “Today, the result of that commitment has come to fruition,” underscoring the successful completion of the renovations and the positive impact it will have on healthcare delivery in the state.

In addition to the renovations, Governor Yusuf encouraged hospital stakeholders to take responsibility for the newly installed equipment and to maintain cleanliness within the facility. He stressed the critical role that effective healthcare services play in the well-being of Kano residents.

Reassuring the citizens, the governor reiterated his administration’s dedication to providing quality healthcare. He emphasized that the improvements at the Bamalli Nuhu Maternity Hospital are just the beginning of broader healthcare reforms in the state.

To further this vision, Governor Yusuf announced that contracts have been awarded for the renovation of all General Hospitals across Kano State. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare access and quality for all citizens.

As part of the event, the governor also distributed essential medical supplies to hospitals throughout Kano State, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to equipping healthcare facilities and ensuring that residents receive the necessary medical support.
