The Northwest All Progressive Congress (APC) Social Media Forum has issued a warning to northerners, urging them not to take part in a planned nationwide protest against the country’s economic situation.
Chairman Alhaji Ahmed Rufa’i-Gumel cautioned that protests can have severe consequences, including violence, social unrest, and even military intervention. He pointed to examples of countries that have suffered due to protests.
Rufa’i-Gumel appealed to northerners to give the government more time to address the economic challenges, emphasizing that Nigeria is their homeland. He expressed confidence in the government’s ability to fix the problems.
The Chairman also warned youths against engaging in disruptive activities, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the country.
The Forum called on the government to accelerate social infrastructure development to alleviate hardship, believing that supporting the government’s efforts will lead to positive changes in the country’s economic situation.
