Rukayat Gawat’s Unfulfilled Dream
The late Rukayat Gawat was a strong and determined woman who dedicated herself to entertaining others, earning accolades within the Islamic music genre. However, the unresolved disappearance of her father remained a painful wound in her heart until her passing.
In one of her interviews, she expressed her belief that her father was still alive and would return to them safe and sound.
During a safety and remembrance prayer session held at MITV in 2016, Rukayat shared that despite the challenges, her mother and siblings were enduring the hardship.
“I believe my father is merely missing and not deceased. It pains me that he has not been able to witness the fruits of his investments in us—his children. Nonetheless, we will continue to hold this remembrance prayer in his honor until he returns to our warm embrace,” Rukayat stated.
She established an annual event to honor her father by providing gifts and food items to the less privileged, widows, and those in need.
In her own words, she said, “As long as I am alive, I will continue to honor and remember him. This is my wish and prayer to Almighty Allah.”
