‘I Refused to Comply with His Request’ – Darkoo Calls Out Peter Okoye for Removing Her Song

Singer Darkoo has publicly called out Peter Okoye of the P-Square duo, accusing him of allegedly sabotaging her new single. In a viral post on her X account, Darkoo claimed that Okoye, who is popularly known as Mr. P, took down the video for her recently released song, “Focus On Me,” from YouTube.

Released on January 2, 2024, “Focus On Me” faced removal due to alleged copyright infringements. Darkoo expressed her disappointment, suggesting that Okoye’s actions were driven by spite after she declined his request to feature him in the song.

In her detailed explanation, Darkoo stated that despite Okoye’s initial willingness to collaborate, he became difficult once the song was released. She claimed, “My music video was taken down for 6 days by Peter of P-Square in an attempt to completely sabotage the song. I have all necessary clearance for the sample.”

She further elaborated that while they were receiving 50% from the song, Peter wanted to be featured on it and even created a new verse. Darkoo revealed that he instructed her not to communicate with his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye.

However, she noted that once the song was launched, Mr. P changed his demeanor, causing issues because he wanted to be included in the track. “Even when I wanted him to be on the remix, that wasn’t enough for him. Instead, he chose to act out of anger and try to sabotage it because I didn’t bow to his demands. It is sad and disappointing,” she lamented.

As of the time of this report, Peter Okoye has not yet responded to Darkoo’s allegations. He is also making headlines for other controversial reasons, including a recent dispute with his twin and older brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye. This ongoing drama highlights the complexities and challenges within the music industry, particularly regarding collaborations and creative differences.
