“I regret supporting the exhumation of Mohbad,” says Iyabo Ojo.

Iyabo Ojo, a prominent figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry, has publicly expressed her regret over her previous support for the exhumation of late singer Mohbad. In a recent statement, she reflected on her initial stance, acknowledging the emotional turmoil surrounding the situation.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away under circumstances that sparked widespread controversy and speculation. Following his untimely death, there was a call from some quarters for an autopsy and exhumation to clarify the circumstances surrounding his passing. Iyabo Ojo initially advocated for this action, believing it was necessary to seek justice and transparency.

However, after further reflection and considering the impact of her words, she has now stated that she regrets her involvement in the push for exhumation. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of respecting the deceased and the feelings of their loved ones, acknowledging that her advocacy may have added to the grief of Mohbad’s family and fans.

Iyabo Ojo’s change of heart has resonated with many, as it highlights the complexities of navigating public sentiment in the face of tragedy. She has called for unity and healing within the community, urging others to focus on honoring Mohbad’s legacy rather than dwelling on the controversies surrounding his death.

The entertainment industry continues to mourn the loss of Mohbad, and Iyabo Ojo’s candid admission serves as a reminder of the delicate balance between seeking justice and showing compassion in times of sorrow.

“I simply wanted Mohbad’s body to be exhumed so an autopsy could determine the cause of his death.

“I did everything I could to ensure a thorough investigation, but when various theories emerged, DNA testing became their primary focus.”

DANDALI recalls that Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances and was buried the following day.

However, on September 21, 2023, the Lagos State Police exhumed his body for an autopsy.

In October 2023, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, emphasized that the singer would not be reburied until a DNA test is performed on his son, Liam.
