Kalu celebrates Tinubu over landmark assent to South East Devt. Comm. Bill

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has expressed deep gratitude to His Excellency, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, the President of Nigeria, for signing the South East Development Commission (SEDC) bill into law. This approval allows for the establishment of the commission, a bill which was sponsored by Kalu and other lawmakers from the south east region in the House of Representatives.

The commission is tasked with managing funds from the federation account to rebuild and rehabilitate roads, houses, and other infrastructure damaged during the civil war aftermath over 54 years ago. It will also address ecological and environmental challenges in the Southeast States, including Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, and Ebonyi.

In response to this positive development, Kalu conveyed his thanks to President Tinubu, his fellow lawmakers, and all Nigerians for their support. He also assured the people of the South East region of more attention and support from the President.
