Kano Education Commissioner Introduces New K-SAFE Executives

The commissioner of education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, recently inaugurated the newly elected executives of the Kano State Accountability Forum on Education (K-SAFE). This event marks a significant step in the state’s commitment to enhancing educational standards.

During the inauguration, Doguwa expressed his unwavering support for the new leadership of K-SAFE. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and encouraged the executives to seek his guidance on initiatives that could elevate education in Kano State.

Doguwa also advised the newly appointed leaders to engage with their predecessors to build upon the successes achieved in the past. This continuity is essential for ensuring that progress in the education sector remains steady and impactful.

In addition, the commissioner highlighted the state’s intention to explore the reopening of 7-10 boarding schools that had been closed by the previous administration. This initiative aims to expand educational opportunities for students in the region.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Auwalu Halilu, the chairman of K-SAFE, outlined the forum’s composition, which includes civil society organizations, civil servants, academics, and media representatives. Together, they advocate for improved practices in education throughout Kano State.

Dr. Halilu also mentioned that K-SAFE is committed to supporting the Kano State government in the education sector, focusing on accountability and effective service delivery. This partnership is crucial for advancing educational goals.

The newly inaugurated executive committee features Dr. Auwalu Halilu as co-chairperson (CSO) and Malam Munzali Mustapha as co-chair (government), along with other dedicated members in various roles, all working towards the betterment of education in the state.
