Over the past weekend, the Kano Golf Course held a One Day Golf Kitty Tournament to honor the recent appointment and turbaning of Alhaji Umar Adam Kolo Umar as Kauran Saminaka by the Emir of Saminaka in Kaduna state, Alhaji Ibrahim Sani.
The tournament, which was held at the Kano Golf Course, attracted golfers from Kano, Dutse, and other nearby golf clubs. It also brought together dignitaries from both within and outside the state who were present at the closing ceremony.
During the event, Malam Nasiru Balarabe Zahradeen, a Veteran Journalist and Public Affairs Analyst, expressed that the turbaning of Alhaji Umar AdamKolo Umar as Kauran Saminaka was well-deserved due to his contributions to the development of various communities in Nigeria, particularly in the northern regions.
Nasir Zahradeen expressed confidence that with this new title, Umar AdamKolo would intensify his efforts in providing selfless service to the Saminaka community and the people of Kano and Borno States.
The former Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) staff emphasized the need for collective efforts to overcome the current challenges in some parts of the northern states.
In their individual remarks, a Gusau-based Transporter, Alhaji Umar Lawan Gusau, and a Kano Businessman, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi Bagwanje, both regarded the turbaning of Alhaji Umar AdamKolo as a well-deserved appointment.
Other speakers at the event commended the Emir of Saminaka for bestowing the title of Kauran Saminaka upon Alhaji Umar Adamkolo Umar.
They urged Alhaji Umar to continue his efforts in promoting and developing the Saminaka Emirate Council and uplifting the community and the country as a whole.
In his address, the Kauran Saminaka, Alhaji Umar AdamKolo, expressed gratitude to the Emir of Saminaka, Alhaji Ibrahim Sani, for the title and pledged to remain loyal and dedicated to the emirate council.
The Kauran Saminaka also expressed appreciation to all those who contributed in any way to the success of the tournament.
