Kano SSG, Commissioner suspended as fresh crisis hits NNPP

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano has made headlines with its recent decision to suspend two prominent members: the State Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, and the Commissioner of Transportation, Muhammad Diggol. This announcement was confirmed by the State party Chairman, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, during a conversation with our reporter late on Monday.

The suspension of Bichi and Diggol follows the circulation of an audio clip in which the Chairman disclosed the decision. This clip quickly gained traction online, drawing attention to the internal issues within the party. The leadership’s move reflects an ongoing struggle for unity and discipline among its members.

According to Chairman Dungurawa, the reasons behind the suspensions were rooted in disloyalty, abuse of power, and the creation of chaos within the party ranks. These allegations highlight the serious concerns that the party leadership has regarding the behavior of its officials and their commitment to the party’s principles.

In his statement, Dungurawa emphasized the importance of addressing these issues decisively. He noted that the suspensions were not taken lightly but were necessary to maintain order and integrity within the party. The leadership expressed its commitment to conducting a thorough investigation into the matters at hand.

Furthermore, Dungurawa praised the local party leadership from the wards and Local Government for bringing these issues to light in writing. He acknowledged their efforts in ensuring that the party remains accountable and transparent in its operations. This collaboration is seen as vital for the party’s future stability.

The suspensions come at a time when tensions are escalating within the NNPP, particularly in the Bichi area. Reports indicate a growing crisis among stakeholders, which could have significant implications for the party’s cohesion and effectiveness moving forward.

As the party navigates this challenging period, the leadership is focused on restoring trust and unity among its members. The decision to suspend Bichi and Diggol is a step towards addressing the underlying issues that threaten the party’s integrity.

In conclusion, the NNPP’s actions reflect a broader struggle within political organizations to maintain discipline and loyalty among their members. The coming weeks will be crucial as the party investigates the allegations and seeks to mend the rifts that have emerged within its ranks.
