Moniepoint Becomes A Unicorn After Raising $110M From Google And DPI

Nigerian fintech startup Moniepoint has reached “unicorn” status after successfully securing $110 million in funding. This significant investment came from notable investors, including tech giant Google and the London-based private equity firm Development Partners International.

With this funding round, Moniepoint’s valuation has soared to over $1 billion for the first time in its nine-year history. Achieving unicorn status is a significant milestone for any startup, as it represents a privately held company valued at more than $1 billion and not publicly traded.

In a statement to DANDALI, Moniepoint disclosed the details of its recent funding and the impact it will have on its operations. The company aims to utilize this capital to accelerate its growth trajectory across the African continent.
