Nigeria at 64: Funke Akindele and Mr. Eazi inspire fans on Independence Day.

Famous Nollywood actress Funke Akindele and singer Mr. Eazi took to social media to honor Nigeria as it turns 64.

On Tuesday, October 1st, the stars shared uplifting messages in light of the country’s economic challenges.

In her Instagram post, Funke Akindele expressed her hopes for Nigeria’s future, stating, “I pray that this country will be great, yes! We keep saying it will be great. It will be great because this is where I earn a living, where I am known as ‘gbogbo bigs girl,’ and where I make the money to afford designer bags and clothes. This is where I empower many people. For me, I will not japa; I will remain in Nigeria. Nigeria go better.

“Happy Independence Day to my beloved Nigeria! We have weathered storms, but our spirit remains unbroken. I celebrate our resilience, creativity, and hope. Envisioning a Nigeria where dreams flourish, talents thrive, and opportunities abound. Let’s believe in a brighter tomorrow!

Similarly, Mr. Eazi shared on his X handle, “Celebrating the strength, resilience, and energy of all citizens. Hoping for a greater future! #nigeriaindependence.”
