Maverick singer Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has called on Nigerian celebrities to refrain from airing their private lives in public. He shared this advice while discussing the marital issues of Nigerian power couple 2Baba and Annie Idibia during a recent interview with TVC.
The septuagenarian confidently stated that the public wouldn’t be aware if he chose to divorce his wife.
“I feel sorry for the couple [2Baba and Annie Idibia]. It’s unfortunate. But my advice is, let’s keep our business private and away from the public eye. Social media has changed a lot, but it’s also up to the people. I’m not speaking from a place of superiority; I’ve had disagreements with my partner, but we resolve them privately.
“You shouldn’t bring your issues outside to settle in public. I believe that’s wrong because if I were to stop living with my wife today, no one would know about it. I wouldn’t make a fuss about it,” he stated.
