Ogun Grants Civil Servants Two Days Off Amid Fuel Price Hike.

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has announced a new policy granting two days off per week for officers on Grade Levels 01-14. In contrast, those on Grade Levels 15-17 will continue to have one day off each week. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to support public sector workers.

The State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, shared this information on Wednesday. He emphasized that the policy is designed to alleviate the challenges workers face while commuting to their jobs. By reducing the number of workdays, the government hopes to provide substantial relief to employees.

Onasanya highlighted that the ultimate goal of this policy is to enhance service delivery. A more motivated and energized workforce is expected to improve overall productivity within the state’s public sector. This initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to worker welfare.

He urged all accounting officers to implement this new policy across their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies while ensuring that service delivery remains uncompromised. The successful execution of this policy will depend on cooperation from all levels of government.

Governor Abiodun’s administration previously introduced a one-day-off work policy in July 2023, applicable to all grade levels. The recent extension of two days off for Grade Levels 01-14 aims to further ease the financial strain on these workers.

This move is seen as a significant step towards improving the working conditions of public servants in Ogun State. By prioritizing the welfare of workers, the government hopes to foster a more productive and satisfied workforce.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dapo_Abiodun
