Renowned Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has labeled the circulating reports of her fleeing the United States due to the wildfires in Los Angeles as inaccurate.
DANDALI POST notes that the actress announced her arrival in Nigeria on Thursday, January 9, 2025, through a series of posts on her Instagram story. She stated, “Touchdown Abuja. When my American fans follow me back to Nigeria. I had to evacuate in 20 minutes. Please, guys, stay safe out there. If you have family in LA, check on them.”
Following her announcement, many reports emerged claiming that Omotola left LA for Nigeria because of the ongoing wildfires, which have displaced over 137,000 people and resulted in more than 30 fatalities, including Hollywood actress Dalyce Curry.
In response to these reports, Omotola took to her Instagram on Tuesday evening to refute the viral speculations and assure her fans of her and her family’s safety. She expressed gratitude for the concern and support she received regarding the Los Angeles fires, stating, “To clarify: My family and I are safe. However, I have seen reports suggesting that I had to leave the U.S. because of the fire. This is inaccurate. I have been in Nigeria since December 2024, and I’m still here now. While I deeply value my connection to LA, these fires were not the reason for my travel.”
Numerous A-list singers, actors, and other celebrities have also been impacted by the devastating wildfires.
