Organizers Withdraw Award from Actor Yemi Solade Over Payment Dispute

Solade took to his Instagram page to share this development, expressing his disappointment over the situation.
The actor emphasized that he does not belong to the category of individuals who purchase award plaques. He further accused the event organizers of engaging in extortion, suggesting that the practice undermines the integrity of such awards.
In his post, Solade shared a screenshot of a conversation he had with a representative from the organizing committee. He wrote, “I refused to pay for the AWARD PLAQUE. This is the outcome.”
The leaked chat reveals a message from the organizers, which stated: “Good morning sir, I hope you had a restful night. I followed up on your response regarding sponsorship with the management. However, it seems they are not pleased, especially after disclosing the cost of the plaques. Therefore, you can still attend, but the award plaque may not be presented to save costs. Thank you for your understanding, sir.”
This incident has sparked discussions among fans and industry insiders about the ethics of award ceremonies and the expectations placed on nominees. Many are rallying behind Solade, supporting his stance against what they perceive as unjust practices within the awards circuit.
