Over 100 UBA Customers Win N41.8M In ‘Legacy Promo’

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc recently gave away over 41.8 million Naira in prizes to more than 100 fortunate customers as part of its UBA Legacy Promo. This exciting campaign, which just wrapped up, was launched to celebrate UBA’s 75-year history in the banking industry and show appreciation to its loyal customers.

The promotion opened its doors to several types of account holders, including those with Bumper Accounts, Savings Accounts, and special accounts for kids and teenagers. This meant that many people had a chance to win various prizes, including educational grants, alongside cash rewards.

The winners were announced during a celebratory event at UBA’s main office located in Marina, Lagos, last Thursday. The event was attended by journalists and representatives from regulatory bodies such as the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, ensuring that everything was transparent and properly supervised.

In the category for Savings Account holders, ten customers each won a whopping 1 million Naira. The winners included individuals like Olonade Funmilayo and Abdullahi Yunusa, among others. One of the winners, Oligbo Francis Azuka, shared his surprise and joy upon receiving the news, expressing his gratitude for the unexpected reward from UBA.

Similarly, the Bumper Category also saw ten winners receiving 1 million Naira each, with names like Emem Christian Thompson and Lateefat Omotayo Waheed among them. Additionally, 20 lucky customers walked away with 500,000 Naira each, and another 20 received 250,000 Naira each. There were also 10 customers who won 100,000 Naira each during the live draws.

In a special category for younger customers called NextGen, 10 lucky individuals received 180,000 Naira each to spend as pocket money for an entire year. The Kiddies and Teens category also awarded 20 young customers with educational grants of 200,000 Naira each.

At the announcement event, Shamsideen Fashola, UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, spoke about how important the promo is for building stronger ties between the bank and its community. He said that the UBA Legacy Promo is a heartfelt thank-you to customers who have trusted the bank over the years. He reiterated that UBA is committed to helping people access banking services and is focused on creating innovative, customer-centered products. The bank aims to make banking rewarding and life-enriching, ultimately helping to build stronger communities.

Throughout the past six months, from July to December 2024, UBA has conducted multiple draws that rewarded over 600 customers with prizes totaling more than 200 million Naira. This initiative has resulted in over 60 new millionaires, showcasing the bank’s dedication to improving its customers’ lives and encouraging a culture of saving. UBA continues to emphasize the importance of customer satisfaction and is committed to launching even more impactful programs in the future.
