Mr. Macaroni, a well-known Nigerian skit maker and activist, has explained why he intends to keep snubbing the current Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. He shared this insight while responding to an X user, @OyesileJohn, who criticized him for ignoring the governor. The user tweeted: “To d’ifa fun a certain Macaroni who, in an attempt to please the mob, snubbed the governor of Lagos State. Omo ase.”
The post has generated significant reactions on social media, with many defending Macaroni for remaining true to his principles. In response to the user, the skit maker stated in a series of posts on his account that he will continue to snub Governor Sanwo-Olu.
“I will keep ignoring your governor. He means nothing to me, and neither do you or your father. I find it amusing that you slaves bring this up so often. For every time you do, I will send you back to your masters.”
Explaining his stance, Macaroni elaborated that he cannot associate with a government that “stripped me naked, beat, tortured, brutalized, and dehumanized me.” Reflecting on his time in detention, he mentioned that the police told him to “stop disturbing the governor.”
