The event highlighted the significance of the occasion, drawing notable figures from various sectors of Nigerian society.

The ceremony took place at the Palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, on a Saturday, providing a regal backdrop for the festivities. This venue is known for its historical and cultural significance, making it a fitting location for such an important occasion.

A’isha’s groom, Fahad Mangal, is the son of prominent businessman Dahiru Mangal. This union not only signifies a personal celebration but also highlights the connections between influential families in Nigeria, showcasing the intertwining of politics and business.

Mr. Shettima arrived at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport around 10:00 AM, while Mr. Obasanjo made his entrance slightly earlier at approximately 9:30 AM. Obasanjo was dressed in a traditional white babbarriga and a red cap, emblematic of the Kwankwasiyya political movement initiated by Kwankwaso in 2011.

The wedding Fatiha was solemnized before the Emir and officiated by Professor Sani Zahraddin, the Chief Imam of Kano. This religious ceremony added a layer of cultural richness to the event, reflecting the traditions that are deeply rooted in Nigerian society.

As part of the celebrations, a bride price of N1 million was presented. Additionally, the groom generously gifted another N1 million to the imams who officiated the solemnization, highlighting the importance of honoring religious leaders in such ceremonies.

Overall, the wedding served not only as a personal milestone for the couple but also as a gathering that reinforced social and political connections among Nigeria’s elite, showcasing the blending of tradition, culture, and modernity in contemporary Nigerian society
