Tacha stated, “I have dominated the Nigerian market,” explaining her reasons for moving abroad.

Former Big Brother Naija contestant Natacha Anita Akide, widely recognized as Tacha, has recently opened up about her decision to relocate abroad, shedding light on the motivations behind her move. Tacha has made her way to the United Kingdom, where she aims to explore new opportunities.

In a conversation with British media personality Madame Joyce, Tacha revealed that her success in the Nigerian market largely drove her relocation to the UK. She expressed a sense of accomplishment, stating, “I relocated to the UK because I have conquered the whole of the Nigerian market. Relocating to the UK doesn’t mean I’m not going to do Nigerian deals. If the offer is good, why not?”

Insights into the Influencing Industry

Tacha elaborated on her experiences within the Nigerian influencing scene, highlighting a stark contrast between its outward appearance and the underlying realities. She remarked, “The influencing scene in Nigeria looks so beautiful, but behind the scenes, it’s not as beautiful as it seems because the money is poor.” This statement underscores the challenges many influencers face, despite the glamorous facade often portrayed.

Financial Struggles

Tacha provided a specific example to illustrate her point: “Someone would pay you N6 million, which is approximately $3,000, for you to influence for six months and post two videos a month.” This compensation structure raises questions about the sustainability and viability of a career in influencing, especially given the increasing costs of living and maintaining a public persona.

She reflected on her own experience, noting, “The fee was the same when I left the Big Brother Naija show in 2019, but it made sense then. At least, you could book a plane ticket with it.” However, she expressed concern about the current value of that compensation: “But right now, $3,000 is nothing. N6 million seems good, but when you have to convert it to dollars, travel abroad, and spend money to look good, there’s nothing left.”
