A new app called Tapestry is in the final stages of development and aims to combine social media, news, and blog feeds into one easy-to-use platform. This app is being created by Iconfactory, the same team that developed Twitterific, a popular app for Twitter users years ago. Tapestry was first introduced at the beginning of this year as a solution to the overwhelming number of online platforms we have today. It will allow users to keep track of their favorite blogs, news websites, and social media accounts all in one place. Recently, the company announced that they plan to officially launch Tapestry to the public in early 2025.
In an update posted on their Kickstarter page, the team mentioned that while they are eager to release the app, there are still some important features to finalize and bugs to fix. Instead of seeking funding from large investors, Iconfactory has been using crowdfunding to support the development of Tapestry. So far, over 3,360 backers have pledged more than $177,800 to help bring this app to life.
Tapestry is designed for people who are tired of juggling multiple websites, blogs, and social media platforms. Many users find it frustrating to constantly open new tabs in their web browsers or switch between different apps to stay updated. Additionally, with the rise of many alternatives to Twitter (now called X), there’s a growing interest in finding new ways to interact with social media. Since Elon Musk took over Twitter, many new platforms like Mastodon, Bluesky, and Meta’s Threads have emerged, each trying to offer a unique experience.
Recently, another app called Surf was launched by Flipboard, which also aims to combine various online content, allowing users to track RSS feeds and posts from Bluesky and Mastodon in one place. Tapestry is not the only app exploring this idea. For example, Silvio Rizzi, the developer of the popular news reader app Reeder, has updated his app to include support for social media platforms like Mastodon, Bluesky, and Reddit. Another app called Feeeed has also added features to track multiple services, including newsletters and social media.
Each of these apps has a different look and feel, but Tapestry stands out because it tries to balance both traditional news feeds and social media interactions. Users can follow their favorite websites and blogs, and they can even import a list of RSS feeds all at once. The beta version of Tapestry currently supports content from Mastodon and Bluesky, as well as webcomics and social platforms like Reddit and YouTube. It can even provide alerts for weather and earthquake updates, which many people still use X for.

Aiwyn’s platform automates these processes, making it easier for both CPAs and their clients to keep track of money flow.
The company was co-founded by Pat Morell and Justin Adams. Adams had a frustrating experience with a CPA firm while working on his previous startup, a healthcare company called Digitize.AI. After selling Digitize.AI, he received an invoice from the CPA firm two months later, asking him to mail a check to a P.O. box in Pennsylvania. This experience left him wondering why a well-known accounting firm would make it so difficult for clients to pay their bills. He felt that the process was unnecessarily complicated and frustrating.

Even though Adams was feeling exhausted after his previous venture, he reached out to Morell, and together they began to brainstorm ideas that eventually led to the creation of Aiwyn.
Today, Aiwyn employs about 80 people and reported $8 million in revenue in 2023. The company serves around 130 of the top 500 accounting firms in the country, putting it in a strong position within a growing market.
The market for accounting practice management software is booming, valued at $1.29 billion in 2024, and expected to grow to $2.36 billion by 2031, according to Verified Market Research. A survey found that 93% of accountants believe that firms that use more technology are more likely to survive tough economic times, like periods of high inflation and rising interest rates.
Aiwyn is working on creating a comprehensive platform for accounting practice management, as well as a specialized application focused on tax-related tasks. To support these initiatives, the company recently raised $113 million in funding from investors including KKR and Bessemer Venture Partners. This brings Aiwyn’s total funding to $127 million.
Adams stated that Aiwyn is dedicated to helping CPA firms improve their operations and client relationships. With the new investment, they aim to transform how these firms manage everything from customer relationship management (CRM) to their financial records, while also enhancing the overall experience for their clients.

What makes Tapestry particularly useful is its ability to let users create custom feeds or “timelines.” This means you can choose exactly which sources you want to see, whether they are social media sites, blogs, podcasts, or news articles. There are also handy features like “mute” and “muffle” that allow users to block posts with specific keywords or to hide them from view without completely removing them.
However, there is some confusion in the current version of the app regarding how it organizes different sources. Tapestry separates content into two categories: “feeds” for filling your timeline with updates, and “connectors” for creating additional feeds. Some platforms, like Mastodon and Bluesky, can appear in both categories, which might be confusing for users. A simpler approach with a single “sources” section might be more user-friendly.
Overall, Tapestry appears to be a promising tool for anyone looking to keep up with various social media platforms, news updates, and blog posts—all in one convenient app, instead of having to browse X or multiple other sites. While Iconfactory hasn’t announced a specific launch date yet, they plan to offer Tapestry through monthly and annual subscription plans.
