Telegram Launches Better Sticker Search And Video Watching Features

Telegram, a popular messaging app that became profitable last year, has rolled out some exciting new updates to enhance the user experience. These updates include improvements to how users can search for stickers, options for selecting video covers, and a feature that lets you share videos starting at a specific point in the clip.

Previously, Telegram introduced an AI-powered sticker search in December that allowed users to find stickers by typing in phrases in everyday language. However, this feature was limited to just 40,000 stickers. With the latest update, users can now search for stickers using phrases like “Thinking monkey” or “Dog eyebrow raise,” and they will receive results from a vast collection of millions of stickers available on the platform.

In addition to sticker updates, Telegram has also made it easier for users to enjoy videos. Now, when you share a video link from Telegram, you can specify the exact moment you want others to start watching, similar to how YouTube works. This means you can send a link that takes someone directly to the part of the video you want them to see. Furthermore, users can select a specific frame from the video to use as a cover photo, much like how thumbnails work on other video platforms. There’s also a video editing feature that allows you to add text, stickers, and emojis to this cover image.

Another useful addition is the ability to save your progress while watching videos. If you need to pause a video, you can come back later and pick up right where you left off.

While Telegram has channels where users share their own content, it has also gained a reputation for hosting pirated videos. Last year, the company took action by removing around 15 million groups and channels, although not all of these were involved in piracy.

In 2023, Telegram enhanced its channels feature by introducing new ways for users to discover similar channels when they join one. Now, they are applying a similar idea to help users find new bots. When you look at a bot’s profile, you will see a new tab labeled “Similar Bots,” which will help you find other bots that are related to the one you are currently exploring.
