President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a directive to the Nigerian Army aimed at eradicating insecurity in Zamfara State and the broader North-West region. This urgent order was communicated by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, during his recent visit to evaluate the progress of Operation Fansan Yamma North-West.

During his visit, Abubakar highlighted the government’s steadfast commitment to combating banditry and terrorism that have plagued the area. He stressed the importance of addressing these security challenges effectively and efficiently.

Abubakar expressed deep concern over the ongoing security issues in the North-West, particularly in Zamfara. He reiterated President Tinubu’s instructions to the military to take decisive action against the threats facing the region.

In his remarks, he commended the troops for their readiness and urged them to intensify their efforts in targeting notorious bandit leaders. The minister’s encouragement was aimed at boosting morale among the soldiers engaged in these critical operations.

He conveyed optimism regarding the success of the ongoing military operations. Abubakar emphasized the importance of community support, urging local residents to cooperate and offer prayers for the troops as they carry out their missions.

The minister’s visit included a tour of Combat 2, 17 Brigade, and the Forward Operation Base of Operation Fansan Yamma. This tour was intended to assess the operational capabilities and readiness of the troops stationed in these strategic locations.

Abubakar praised the soldiers for their relentless efforts in securing key routes, particularly the Tsafe-Shema-Gusua road. He acknowledged their recent successes in maintaining safety along this critical transportation corridor.

During a meeting with the Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal, the minister briefed him on the objectives of his visit. He reiterated the government’s resolve to tackle the security challenges that have been affecting the state and its residents.

The minister’s interactions during the visit were aimed at fostering collaboration between the military and local government officials. This partnership is seen as vital for effectively addressing the complex security issues in the region.

In conclusion, the commitment demonstrated by both the federal government and the military highlights the urgency of restoring peace in Zamfara State and the North-West. The ongoing efforts reflect a broader strategy to ensure the safety and security of all citizens in the affected areas.
