On October 23, President Tinubu made headlines by sacking five Ministers and appointing seven new ones in a much-anticipated cabinet reshuffle. This decision reflects a strategic move to revitalize his administration’s approach to governance.
The Senate confirmed the appointments of the new Ministers on October 30. This group includes notable figures such as Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, who will serve as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Other confirmed Ministers include Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, appointed as the Minister of Labour and Employment, and Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who will take on the role of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Their diverse backgrounds are expected to bring fresh perspectives to their respective portfolios.
Additionally, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole was appointed Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, while Idi Mukhtar Maiha will oversee Livestock Development. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad were appointed as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development and Minister of State for Education, respectively. This reshuffle aims to strengthen the government’s capacity to address key issues effectively.
