Tinubu’s government will not reverse its policies, says APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC), currently in power, has called on the opposition to abandon any thoughts of reversing policies implemented by President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Instead, the party encourages the opposition to collaborate in advancing the government’s Renewed Hope agenda. This initiative aims to foster growth and development within the country.

In response to accusations from the opposition, the APC firmly denied claims that it rigged the governorship election held in Edo State on September 21. The party dismissed these allegations as part of a broader narrative aimed at establishing a one-party system and undermining democracy in Nigeria. The APC maintains that its actions are aligned with democratic principles.

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the APC of manipulating the Edo election to further its agenda of creating a one-party state. During a press conference following their meeting at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, the chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, expressed deep concerns about the worsening socio-economic conditions in Nigeria, attributing these issues to the policies of the APC-led government.

In a recent interview with Daily Trust, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, the APC’s Director of Publicity, responded to these allegations. He emphasized that the ruling party has no intention of undermining democracy or imposing any form of authoritarian rule on the nation. Ibrahim reiterated the APC’s commitment to democratic values and principles.

Ibrahim highlighted that the APC is a progressive party dedicated to enacting changes that will yield tangible benefits for the populace. He stressed the importance of a vibrant democracy, which thrives on constructive opposition rather than destructive criticism. The party believes that healthy political discourse is essential for the nation’s progress.

The APC’s leadership argues that the previous administration under the PDP left the country in a state of disarray, leading to significant challenges that Nigerians are still grappling with. They believe that the public is beginning to recognize the meaning of true change and the potential for improvement under the APC’s governance.

According to the APC, it is crucial for the opposition to engage in a more constructive manner. The party insists that while dissent is a vital component of democracy, it should be aimed at fostering dialogue and solutions rather than merely opposing for the sake of opposition.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the APC remains focused on its agenda to implement policies that will enhance the quality of life for Nigerians. The party is determined to demonstrate that it can deliver on its promises and address the pressing issues facing the country.

In conclusion, the APC is calling for unity and collaboration among political parties to navigate the challenges ahead. By encouraging constructive engagement, the ruling party hopes to build a stronger, more democratic Nigeria where all voices can be heard and valued.

The ongoing political discourse underscores the importance of accountability and transparency in governance. Both the APC and the PDP have significant roles to play in shaping the future of Nigeria, and the electorate is watching closely as these parties navigate their respective paths.
