On Sunday, Trump posted screenshots featuring altered images, some of which an expert indicated might be AI-generated. These posts imply that Swift and her fanbase, affectionately known as Swifties, are backing his campaign. In one of his Truth Social posts, Trump included a poster of Swift dressed in an Uncle Sam outfit, urging her fans to vote for him, to which he responded, “I accept!”
Digital forensics expert Hany Farid from the University of California, Berkeley, commented on the authenticity of the poster, suggesting it was either AI-generated or significantly manipulated. The post also featured photos of women wearing shirts emblazoned with the slogan “Swifties for Trump,” with Farid noting that some of these images exhibited clear signs of being AI-created.

What makes this combination of images particularly misleading is the mix of real and fake visuals. Farid pointed out that at least one photo of a woman in such a shirt appeared genuine, adding to the confusion. There was no immediate response from Swift regarding Trump’s post, even though he shared a separate video on Truth Social featuring a supporter making the questionable claim that “Swifties were rallying for Trump.”
Swift’s rising popularity and influence over her fans could make her endorsement highly valuable in the forthcoming presidential election. Both Republicans and Democrats have long sought her support, but the megastar has remained largely silent about her political affiliations.
